Ethos
We know that Homo sapiens is a keystone species in all of the world’s diverse ecosystems, and that ecological literacy is the foundation for participating in regenerative action leading to environmental conditions conducive to the continuation of life.
The first step towards ecological literacy is a comfortable immersion in the natural world; safely exploring the life that surrounds us, developing self-awareness and self-reliance, and coming to understand our place in systems both social and ecological.
‘Now I see the secret of making the best persons, it is to grow in the open air and to eat and sleep with the earth’
– Walt Whitman
Location
Carreglwyd Estate
Carreglwyd is a beautiful and magical family run estate nestled in woodland enfolded by the local landscape. The estate is focused on a 17th century country house set in a landscaped garden, around an ornamental lake, with tall trees, outcrops of rock, and a large reed bed nature reserve attracting a diverse array of birds and other wildlife, as well as only being a short walk from the beach and rugged coastline, there are a variety of environments to explore.
It is on this site we offer school groups, summer holiday retreats for both children and adults, and sessions for child care when the estate offers bespoke weddings.

“When we chop nature into bits in an attempt to understand it, we lose sight of the relationships among those bits. But ecological healing is all about the healing of relationships.” Charles Eisenstein
